• Workshops with top-notch musicians, including Leela & Ellie Grace, Alan Jabbour, Ken Perlman, and Orrin Star
• Concerts featuring Kim & Jim Lansford, Skip Gorman, Garry Harrison, and more
• Record enrollment of 115 students in a session
• New classes with new teachers in new genres
• Two Student Showcases at the Schlafly Tap Room
• Student performances at Kirkwood Fall Festival, The Monday Club in Webster Groves, and Kimmswick Music and Dance Festival
All of these achievements in the past year show how Folk School of St. Louis has been fulfilling its mission to build community through teaching and renewing traditional music. And all of these achievements were made possible only through the support of people like you—your participation, your energy, your suggestions, your time and talent, and yes, your treasure.
The Folk School is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Tuition and fees cover only about 65% of our annual operating expenses. The remainder of our budget comes from contributions from people just like you.
That’s why we’re asking you to please, give what you can—at whatever amount works for your budget. Last year, 65 Friends invested in the Folk School’s future by making a gift to our annual Friends Campaign. Please join the Friends of the Folk School for 2009.

Your tax-deductible contribution will help us do all the things that create the community we take part in and enjoy—keep tuition affordable, open the school regularly for jam sessions, bring in exceptional musicians for workshops, host a variety of special events and activities, and expand our programs to meet our community’s needs.
