December 2008 • A new building with greatly improved classroom capacity and facilities All of these achievements in the past year show how Folk School of St. Louis has been fulfilling its mission to build community through teaching and renewing traditional music. And all of these achievements were made possible only through the support of people like you—your participation, your energy, your suggestions, your time and talent, and yes, your treasure.

The Folk School is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Tuition and fees cover only about 65% of our annual operating expenses. The remainder of our budget comes from contributions from people just like you. That’s why we’re asking you to please, give what you can—at whatever amount works for your budget. Last year, 65 Friends invested in the Folk School’s future by making a gift to our annual Friends Campaign. Please join the Friends of the Folk School for 2009. (Note: It is not necessary to have a PayPal account in order to use this online payment method.)
The Folk School is relying on you, so that together we can make Folk School of St. Louis the premier gathering place for traditional music and folk arts in St. Louis. Please return the enclosed donation slip today, or you can make your donation online at our website, www.folk-school.com. If you have any questions about becoming a Friend of the Folk School, please give us a call at 314-781-2244. Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you soon! Sincerely, Colleen M. Heine and Sean Ruprecht Belt
